, we have a winter weather advisory in place for the sierra nevada as snow levels tahoe area will fall to 2,500 feet. that is very low for this early in the season. slick conditions blowing snow, wind gusts, 40 to 60 miles per hour. if you're headed to tahoe this weekend, make sure you have your chains or four-wheel drive ready to go. as we are expecting icy conditions. 86 for today and quite the contrary today. 86 in livermore and 80 degrees in fremont and 80 degrees in los gatos and 80en sane front. here's those changes. tuesday 86 and by tomorrow we shave off 10 to 15 degrees and by thursday we fall back into the 50s and friday periods of rain early and that's when snow levels will really drop off. friday will be the coolest day of the week. only 57 degrees in places like livermore and then saturday into sunday, the sun comes back out, but take a couple days for that cold air to mix out of the bay area. we'll be at about 68, close to 70 on monday. but major changes ahead. we'll talk about which cities have the best chance of breaking records today. first, check your drive it's 5:49

to the sierra nevada bring chains. let's time it out. today showers continuing on and off. into the evening here's the next band that i was talking about. you can see some heavier downpours and that will push through tonight. scattered showers into saturday not a rainout but you want to keep that umbrella and then a stronger system moves in on saturday night into sunday morning. mix of sun and clouds and some wandering showers on sunday. so not a washout for the weekend. but we'll see some occasional rain. most of that comes in the nighttime hours. temperatures are going to stay fairly mild with this storm system. rainfall totals though impressive. over 1.5" into the santa cruz mountains over an inch in the santa rosa area and then toward the next storm system, maybe over 2." so a good soaker for the bay area and we are not done. more on the way after that. temperatures mainly in the 60s for today. next few days a little stormy so a wet weekend for the bay area. then it looks like come monday the rain line shifts further north still a chance of a few showers to the north bay, maybe some more sho

an early winter to the sierra nevada. just in time for the thanksgiving holiday. >> of the group of lake tahoe area ski resorts of already open and more are expected to follow suit. those that are open are boreal, heavenly, kirkwood, north star and, sqwaw valley. melrose place opened on wednesday. sierra at tahoe on thursday. alpine meadows and towel donner on december 7th. >> 53 out the door in mountain view. half moon bay coming in at 55 degrees. 56 for powell. as we take the numbers and to the afternoon expect '60s a bit warmer and drier than what we saw this weekend. again we do have a storm system to our north. i do not think it will impact the bay area today. milpitas coming in at 65. 67 for palo alto. similar conditions to the east bank. mid-60's for antioch, livermore, 64 in san leandro. mostly sunny skies for the east bay shoreline. and nevada have recently dropped they are hovering just above the freezing mark. that looks like livermore is coming and at 38 degrees. future cast four shows into the afternoon 3:00 p.m. we will start to see some green on the screen indicating where we will see the 60s. we will go back down into an o'clock tonight however. forties' for some of our inland spots including livermore valley. certainly dress in layers because you will need it. we will be dry but we do have a little bit of the storm system that is coming in from the pacific northwest but it is falling apart right now. we will be dry in the bay area. 64 for montagu's 66 for santa clara in the east bay we go to walnut creek to 62 in alameda. downtown's ever cisco on the cooler side 61. vallejo is checking in at 62 degrees. partly cloudy conditions and 64 on tap for oakland. we have rain to our north which may impact santa rosa. later on as a the week we will see scattered showers for the bay area. thursday night had identified a looks like a dry break for saturday. into the evening hours saturday stretching into sunday heavy rain
